LEAD DOG GROOMER/GROOMER

 

**Job Overview**

 

Oggie’s Doggies is hiring! The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and be committed to providing high-quality grooming services. We are looking for an experienced groomers to help us build and set standards for excellent dog care.

Located in East Passyunk, Oggie’s Doggies is a new business that provides high-quality, fear free, dog walking, daycare, boarding, sitting and grooming services.

​

Compensation:

​

Lead Groomer: This role is a part time 1099/W-9 contractor with 55%-60% sharing of grooming fees and 100% of tips. We are open to special rates for high experienced groomers.

​

Groomer: This role is a part time 1099/W-9 contractor with 45%-50% sharing of grooming fees and 100% of tips. We are open to special rates for high experienced groomers.

​

Hours:

​

Oggie’s Doggies is open to day care M-F 6:30AM - 6:30PM and 2:30-6:30PM on Saturdays. Grooming can take place at any time including after hours, however we are currently most in need of regular open hours.

Scheduling is based on shop needs and groomer availability. Groomers are expected to keep regular and consistent availability.

Lead Groomer Duties:

  • Provide all grooming services at a high quality.

  • Maintain cleanliness of grooming facilities.

  • Maintain a safe experience for dogs, owners, and yourself.

  • Provide a fear free experience for dogs and owners, and be able to collaborate with trainers if needed.

  • Collaborate with the owner to design services and set prices.

  • Coordinate with the administrator for the purchase of all supplies and equipment needed.

  • If needed, provide training for other groomers during scheduled hours.

  • If needed, manage the grooming client schedules.

Groomer Duties:

  • Provide all grooming services at a high quality.

  • Maintain cleanliness of grooming facilities.

  • Maintain a safe experience for dogs, owners, and yourself.

  • Provide a fear free experience for dogs and owners, and be able to collaborate with trainers if needed.

 

Lead Groomer Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Completion of training in grooming or certification of grooming (preferred).

  • Minimum 2-5 years grooming experience.

  • A passion for dog happiness.

  • Knowledge of current grooming trends.

  • Ability to work with dogs of all sizes and temperaments.

  • Knowledge of equipment and supplies needed and how to maintain them.

  • Ability to quickly establish rapport with clients and provide a calm and friendly customer experience.

  • Ability to educate clients on grooming needs.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently.

Groomer Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
